The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is the West Bengal state government administered, independent examining authority for secondary school level examination of West Bengal. The examination for the 10th standard is called the Madhyamik Pariksha. The Madhyamik examination is conducted annually and simultaneously all over the state of West Bengal. More than 10,50,000 students appear for the exam every year. It has its headquarters at Nivedita Bhaban, in Bidhannagar, a suburb of Kolkata.
About 10.5 lakh students appeared for SSC Board examinations in year 2014. The Board Examinations for Class 10th was held from 03rd of March 2014 and ended at 27th of the same month. The results were out on 22nd of May 2014 with 82 percent students passing the examination. Girls performing far better than the boys across the state.
The West Bengal State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination which will be starting from 23rd February 2015 and will end by 04th March 2015. The West Bengal State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination results are tentatively going to be declared in the month of May 2015.
