WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria

WB JEE 2015 is an acronym for West Bengal joint Entrance Exam 2015.  The Application forms for WB JEE 2015 have already been announced. Candidates please note that, the application forms for WBJEE 2015 shall be available from 22nd December 2014 onward.

Candidates can procure the form online through website http://www.wbjee.nic.in Candidates please take note that the procedure to fill up the WBJEE 2015 application form as well as the application fees shall be notified to students at a later date by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB). All the detail information and the related specifications have been mentioned in the information brochure. Candidates are requested to keep their necessary documents ready so as to avoid mistakes while filling the WBJEE online application form. As we proceed further let us have a look at the WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria norms.

 WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria

It is necessary that candidates meet the eligibility criteria in order to appear for WBJEE 2015.

  • Candidates appearing for WBJEE 2015 must necessarily be Indian Nationals. 
  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with an aggregate of 45% (For SC/ST/PWD candidates relaxation of 40%) 
  • Candidates must have studied Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects (Engineering/Drawing/Computer Science) as optional subjects.
  • Candidates are required to secure minimum 30% marks in English. (For all the categories)
  • Candidates must have attained individual passing marks in each of the subjects Physics, Mathematics, English as well as optional subject chosen.(Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects (Engineering/Drawing/Computer Science))
  • Candidates must have attained an age of at least 17 years as on December 31, 2015.
  • Marine Engineers must secure an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (40% for SC/ST/PWD)
  • Those candidates must secure at least 50% marks in English (For all categories)
  • Candidates must have attained individual passing marks in each of the subjects Physics, Mathematics, English and Vernacular or may be any other fifth subject.
  • Candidates must be of at least 17 years of age as on December 31st 2015 but candidates must not be above 25 years of age as on 31st July 2015.
  • Candidates please note that 10% of seats shall be reserved for candidates under JEE Main 2015 Quota.
  • Candidates must have been residents of West Bengal for a consecutive period of 10 years as on December 31, 2014. OR Their parents must be permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent residential address over there.
