UPCAT BDS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

The Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges in Uttar Pradesh State are here by conducting “All India Common Admission Test” popularly known as “UPCAT- Dental”. The UPCAT-Dental is held in order to get admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Programme for the academic session in various Private colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

UPCAT 2016 is popularly known as Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test. UPCAT is a national level exam conducted by the Association of Private Medical and Dental colleges of Uttar Pradesh. UPCAT exam is conducted for the student who wants to take admission into Under-Graduate Dental Course. The exam is taken to get admission into BDS course in various private colleges in the state of Uttar-Pradesh. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five year course, run under the aegis of Dental Council of India. The UPCAT 2016 exam will be held in the month of June.

UPCAT BDS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Students are requested to have a closer look at the UPCAT BDS 2016 Eligibility Criteria without which they shall not be allowed to be admitted to the Dental curriculum of First year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS Course).

  • It is necessary that candidates must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to BDS course.
  • Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination.
  • The qualifying examination stating the higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equvivalent to 10+2 higher secondary examination. 
  • The last two years of study must accommodate subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics & must have necessarily obtained minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology at the qualifying examination & in addition to that must have come in merit list
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category or any other categories specified by the Government have been allowed to obtain 40% marks aggregate in subjects like Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together.
  • All those candidates who have applied for the qualifying examination but whose results have not yet declared, may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance examination, & when it comes to selection for admission to BDS course, the candidate shall not be admitted to that course until he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as per the specified regulations.
