The University of Calicut is the largest University in the State of Kerala, this Educational institution was established in the year 1968. The University of Calicut was the Second University which was founded and established in Kerala. The University of Calicut is situated in Tenhiplam, 24 kms south of Calicut, in the state of Kerala.

Apart from the Main University Campus, which is located at Calicut, the University has also extended it campus at Thrissur and Vatakara. The University Campus at Thrissur has been named after the renowned and famous economist Dr. John Mathai.

The Thrissur Campus includes the Department of Economics, as well as the School of Drama & Fine Arts, while the Calicut Campus includes and offers courses and programs in Health Sciences, Costume and Fashion Designing. Let us take a look at the University of Calicut as given below :

Courses offered by University of Calicut

1 . M.Sc Medical Biochemistry: 2 years

Eligibility Criteria : Candidate must have passed in 4 year B.Sc Medical Biochemistry Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent.

No. of seats : 20

2 . M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology: 2 years

Eligibility Criteria :  Candidate must have passed in 4 year B.Sc Medical Biochemistry Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent.

No. of seats : 20

3 . M.Sc Medical Microbiology: 2 years

Eligibility Criteria : Candidate must have passed in 4 year B.Sc Medical Microbiology Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent.

No. of seats : 20

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, applicants who have passed the qualifying examinations from the University of Calicut will be given 5 points as weightage. In addition to this, 15% marks scored by candidates in Part III of the qualifying exam will be given as nativity weightage for those who are natives of the districts of Trichur, Palghat, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wynad (except Mananthavady Taluk)

  • Application Forms and Prospectus can be downloaded from the University Website www.universityofcalicut.info
  • All those who apply in the form downloaded from the website should enclose a chalan receipt for Rs.300/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST Candidates)
  • The chalan receipt should be attached along with the filled up application form
  • The duly filled in application forms along with copies of mark lists and other documents should be forwarded to
