State Bank of India considered as the Supreme Bank of India. Initially known as the Imperial Bank of India, State Bank of India (SBI) came into existence with its very own name on 1st July 1955. State Bank of India is a Multinational Bank. It is a government owned Corporation with its Headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra.In 1959, the government passed the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act, which made eight state banks associates of SBI.
SBI is known to have acquired local banks in rescues. The State Bank of India and all its associate banks are identified by the same blue keyhole logo. According to one survey, SBI has as many as 14,816 branches in India, amongst which 66% branches were in Rural & Semi-Urban Areas. Apart from just India, SBI is spread over 34 countries with 180 overseas offices. SBI efficiently operates several foreign subsidiaries or affiliates.
SBI has got five associate banks. They can be stated as below:
- State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur
- State Bank of Hyderabad
- State Bank of Mysore
- State Bank of Patiala
- State Bank of Travancore
Previously SBI had seven Associate banks which then belonged to Princely States until Government of India Nationalised them. With the proposal to merge the Associate Banks into SBI to create a “Mega Bank”, steps were initiated to merge “State Bank of Saurashtra” & “State Bank of Indore”
State Bank Of India conducts recruitment drive from time to time to fulfill the vacancies for Assistant Clerical Post ,Probationary Officers Post , Special Management Executives as well as Specialist Cadre Officers.
With reference to that, SBI has announced recruitment for the post of Special Management Executives 2014. The registration date for the same has been closed down now.
SBI issues Admit Card for Special Management Executives 2014
State Bank of India (SBI) issued online exam call letter for Special Management Executives (Banking) Posts. The examination is scheduled to held on 19 September 2014. In all 300 vacancies have been allotted for Special Management Executive Posts.
All those candidates who had applied for this particular post are eligible to download their respective admit cards by filling up the mandatory form.Candidates need to provide their registration number, date of birth as well as password.
