Punjabi University is a higher education institute located Patiala, Punjab, India. It is established on April 30, 1962 as a residential and teaching university with the main aim of furthering the cause of Punjabi language, art and literature. Punjabi University is awarded with “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The University includes various courses like

Some other specialized teaching departments of the University include Biotechnology, Space Physics, Forensic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Physiotherapy and Sports Sciences. The Punjabi reference Library is a rich collection of over 1, 00,000 documents of history, culture, language and literature. It also contains all Punjabi newspapers, magazines, books, diaries and rare manuscripts pertaining to the 19th and 20th centuries. More than 120 Punjabi newspapers and periodicals published across the world are available in this Library.
