The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE) is a board of education for public and private schools under the state government of Odisha. The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha was established under the Odisha Education Act 1953. The board controls and maintains all the necessary secondary education in the state of Odisha. Under this board various courses are offered to students for different occupations and to prepare the students for university.
About 9 lakh students appeared for SSC Board examinations in year 2014. The Board Examinations for Class 10th was held from 14th of February 2014 and ended at 03rd of March 2014. The results were out on 31st of May 2014 with about 72.30 percent of students passing the examination. Girls performing far better than the boys across the state.
As far as district wise performances are concerned, Deogarh district has been placed on the top of table as the district achieved the highest pass rate of 80.03 percent and Malkangiri has scored the lowest at 34.40 per cent.
The Orissa State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination which will be starting from 19th February 2015 and will end by 12th of March 2015. The Orissa State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination results are tentatively going to be declared in the month of May 2015.
