National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scholarship program held at national level in India to identify students with high academic and intellect talent. This NTSE scheme is a flagship started in 1963 by the NCERT. It is one of the prominent exams and the scheme is open to students of Indian nationality.
This exam aims is to recognize the talented students and further more motivate their talent. Talent refers to the possibility that marks itself in a high level of performance in any specialized areas. This scheme covers different areas such as Social Science, Mathematics, Law, Sciences, Medicine and Engineering. This year NCERT is conducting this National Talent Search Examination for the students studying in X Std.
Scholarship: As per the conducted examination, 1000 scholarships shall be rewarded. Following are the amount of scholarships:
- A scholarship of amount Rs. 1250/- every month for Class XI and XII
- A scholarship of amount Rs. 2000/- every month for undergraduates and post graduates
- The amount of scholarship for Ph. D will be fixed according to the UGC norms
As per mentioned in our previous article on National Talent Search Examination 2014 conducted by NCERT the examination pattern is conducted into two prominent stages.
With its first stage test being conducted to test the mental ability skills of the candidates also known as MAT (Mental Ability Test) & simultaneously Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) plus Language Comprehensive Test are also conducted at State Level where as in the Second Stage apart from the above three tests Interview is also conducted but it shall be at National Level this time around.
The last date for submitting the applications is already closed as well as the first phase of its examination has also passed away. Candidates now need to focus completely on the second stage of examination to be conducted in MAY 2015 (10.5.2015)
Eligibility to appear in NTSE 2015
The only condition to be satisfied to appear for NTSE 2015 is that one needs to be Class X Indian student who might be studying in India or in abroad.
If one is an Indian student studying in Class X abroad, there is no compulsion to appear in Stage-I (State Level NTSE). Instead of that they can directly appear for the Stage -II which is National Level NTSE. Candidates please note that all those Indian students who are studying abroad for them, the last date of form submission for Stage-II is 28th February 2015.
The application procedure for students studying abroad for NTSE 2015 is simple with composition of few steps. One needs to apply through the Head of the Institution where one studies along with the attested copy of the mark sheet of the previous examination. One needs to apply at the following address.

NTSE MAT Syllabus
The MAT exam is conducted to test the reasoning ability, evaluation, visualization, questions on analogies, pattern perception, coding-decoding etc.
NTSE Language Test Syllabus
Language test is conducted so as to test the skills of candidates in reading comprehension, logical sequencing, predictive as well as creative components of language. This particular test can be appeared either in English or Hindi.
NTSE Scholastic Aptitude Test Syllabus
As such there is no particular syllabus mentioned for the State Level as well as National Level Examination. It tests the candidate’s text-book knowledge.
