The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (abbreviated as JKSBSE or JK SBOSE) is the main board of school education in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is based in Jammu and Srinagar and is an autonomous body under the administration of the state government of Jammu and Kashmir. The board gives affiliation to more than 10,609 schools across the state and employs 22,300 teachers.
The purposes of the board is to:
- Secure that education should relate intimately to the development of potentialities of the youth, to the national needs and to the aspirations of the people
- Discover talent
- Promote equality of opportunity by providing necessary facilities
- Regulate, control and develop education in the State of Jammu and Kashmir up to the Higher Secondary level by providing varied courses with a view to equipping pupils for different occupations, for education in the universities and other cultural purposes and to examine candidates and to award certificates to successful candidates and doing all other things incidental thereto
Total of 6.7 lakh students appeared for SSC Board examinations in year 2014. The Board Examinations for Class 10th was held from 01st of March 2014 and ended at 14th of the same month. The results were out in the month of May 2014 with 80 percent students passing the examination. Boys performing far better than the girls across the state.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination which will be starting from 14th of March 2015 and will end by 25th of the same month. The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education SSC examination results are tentatively going to be declared in the month of June 2015.The results will be available on the official website of Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education – http://www.jkbose.co.in/.
