Indian Army is the part of Ministry of Defence Indian Armed Forces & is the land-based branch. It comprises of work related to administration, logistic, accounts, education, meteorology and other desk work. After independence, the Ministry of Defence was formed beneath the charge of a Cabinet Minister. He is works as Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army. The prime duty of Indian Army is to make strategy on defence and safety associated matters and communicates them.
Indian Army has different types of departments, as like,
- Department of Defence
- Department of Defence Production
- Department of Defence Research and Development
- Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare
The Department of Defence deals with the incorporated Defence Staff (IDS) and three Services and various Inter Service Organizations.
The Department of Defence Production is mainly contract with matters related to defence production and control of Ordnance Factory Board and Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) departmental production units.
The Department of Defence Research and Development is deals with investigate, design and expansion of plans for equipment required by the Services.
The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare is deals with all resettlement, welfare subjects of Ex-Servicemen.
Indian Army recruits various manpower as & when needed in various streams via Services Selection Board (SSB). SSB is the type of interview process duration of 5 days which systematically examines each one candidate’s potential and compatibility for commission into the Armed Forces of India.
If one wants to start their career journey in Indian Armed Forces, no matters in civilians or Serving Personnel, all have to clear SSB interview process. There is no limit on the number of attempts that can be made for SSB. The interview exercise is mainly a Psychological test of the candidate.
Out of all five day process, Day 1 is the screening test, Day 2 is the Psychologist Tests, Day 3 & 4 is the group tasks and Day 5 is the Conference (Results).
One who have passed UPSC’s written examination or suggested by Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) & those candidates who are shortlisted in Direct Entries are called to appear for SSB in Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Dehradun, Mysore, Varanasi, Coimbatore & Gandhinagar.
Indian Army: SSB Interview List (April 2015 Course):
Recently, Indian Army declared the List of shortlisted candidates for SSB interview for joining the Indian Military Academy/Officers Training Academy/ National Defence Academy/Naval Academy. Below is the list of candidates of different posts. All Candidates are necessary to report at Bangalore City Railway Station at 2 PM as per allotted dates to each for SSB Interviews to be held at Selection Centre South Bangalore.
All applicants are required to bring all the original relevant documents in along with two photocopies each duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.
