IMU CET 2015 stands for none other than “The Indian Maritime University” Common Entrance Test 2015. The Indian Maritime University conducts a Computer Based Common Entrance Test 2015 which is popularly known as the IMU CET 2015 entrance exam. IMU CET 2015 is an all India level examination & all those candidates who fulfill the basic qualifications can very well apply for it.

The Indian Maritime University (IMU) came into existence on 14th November, 2008 by an Act of Indian Parliament known as Indian Maritime University Act, 2008. The Head Office of IMU is located at Chennai. IMU offers Bachelor’s Degree Program in departments such as ;

  2. Naval Architecture
  3. Ocean Engineering

IMU also offers Post Graduate courses such as;

  4. Port & Shipping Management

IMU CET 2015 entrance exam is available for all the aspiring candidates who wish to take admission into various Undergraduate & Post Graduate courses. There by, candidates can avail admissions in Schools of Marine Engineering, Nautical Sciences, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Maritime Management & lastly Maritime Laws.

IMU CET 2015 Eligibility Criteria

  • For DNS course, candidates must have completed 10+2/ equivalent having 60% in PCM OR B.Sc (PCM) / B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years & not less than 50% marks OR candidates can be BE/B.Tech from IIT or AICTE recognized College with minimum 50% marks.
  • For courses like B.Sc Nautical Science, Maritime Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering candidates must secure 60% marks in PCM, 50% in English & must compulsorily have done 10+2.
  • For B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair) candidates must have completed 10+2 with 50 % marks each in PCM & English individually.
  • For appearing for courses like M.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering as well as Dredging & Harbour Engineering candidates must be Graduate in Engineering in either of Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or must be equivalent with 60% aggregate.
  • In order to apply for MBAS in Port & Shipping Management as well as International Transportation & Logistics Management candidates need to be Graduate in any discipline with 50% marks from recognized Universities (45% marks for SC/ST)
