Entrance Exams for Bank RecruitmentNumerous entrance exams are conducted for the purpose of bank recruitment job on various levels. Through out the country entrance exams are conducted for which applicants apply heavily. There are many banks who prefer to conduct their own exams as well as for the institute such as IBPS. There are many different positions starting from Clerical staff to Assistant Banks post to Probationary Officer post etc.. Exams are conducted for Regional Rural Banks as well as Private Banks.

1. IBPS CWE for Probationary Officer

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) was formulated in order to recruit eligible candidates for bank recruitment by conducting various entrance exams followed by a Personal Interview (PI) & Group Discussion (GD). IBPS conducts a Common Written Exam (CWE) also known as entrance exam which acts as a testing tool to select only the eligible candidates for bank recruitment. The entrance exam is conducted for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer (PO)/ Management Trainee Post (MT) in the Govt/Public Sector Banks.

The instution IBPS has been approved by as many as 22 Public Sector Banks as well as the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA)  with the consent & conformation of Government of India. IBPS conducts online examinations, declares result of the exam and informs the short-listed candidates about their interview schedule. Interviews shall be conducted by the participating organizations being guided by IBPS.

2. State Bank of India PO

State Bank of India (SBI) takes up the initiative to conduct examinations to fill up the vacancy for the post of Probationary Officer (PO). The examination format includes written exam in the first phase of selection process. Furthermore, the test is divided in two phases Part A & Part B. Part A covers up the Objective test on the other hand, Part B covers up Descriptive Paper.

3. Private Banks

Private Banks have the right to conduct their own aptitude tests for candidates. Such as ICICI bank conducts its own full time residential programme at the Manipal Academy Campus, Bangalore. Applicants opting for Probationary Officer Training Programme shall be enrolled for MBA in Banking & Finance at Manipal University.

4. IBPS CWE for Clerical staff

Candidates need to clear the Common Written Exam i.e. CWE for clerical posts cadre in Public Sector Banks. The Written exam conducted by IBPS normally takes place in the month of November/December. Candidates who appear & are short-listed are called for interview.

5. State Bank of India Clerical Recruitment

SBI conducts separate test for the recruitment of candidates to Clerical Cadre. Interested candidates apply online through bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com after which the performance of candidates is assessed via written exam followed by personal interview.

6. Common Written Exam for Regional Rural Banks

A Common Written Examination (CWE) is organized for recruitment of Officers (Scale-I, II & III) as well as Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRB’s) being conducted by IBPS.

7. Common Written Exam for Specialist Officer

A Common Written Exam (CWE) is being conducted for the recruitment purpose of Specialist Officers in Public Sector Banks. The exam is being coordinated by IBPS. Various vacancies are available such as Marketing Officer, Law Officer, HR Officer, IT Officer etc. Eligibility criteria & salary shall vary accordingly.
