We suggest you to firstly go with the Verbal ability section, as this section doesn’t consumes much time. One more thing that you need to keep in mind is that there will be negative marking in eLitmus. So your best bet is not to attempt questions that you don’t know.

So all the best for your exam. Do let us know if you wish to know anything else about eLitmus paper.

    If a person is having less than 60% in 10th then is it beneficial to give the elithmus exam? And after giving the exam one gets above 80 percentile or between 60-80 percentile then again he has to give the aptitude for the respective companies or not???

    How is the overall percentile calculated, assuming the % in each section is 60,60,60?

    Reply
    1. Gandhali Kedar Thakar

      Have a look at the rough idea of the sectional percentile;
      Quantitative Aptitude:

      0 marks — 40 percentile
      Up-to 10 Marks(1 correct question) — 50+ percentile
      Up-to 20 Marks(2 correct question) — 60+ percentile
      Up-to 30 Marks(3 correct question) — 75+ percentile
      30+ marks — 80-85+ percentile

      Reasoning:
      Up-to 20 Marks(2 correct question) — 40+ percentile
      Up-to 30 Marks(3 correct question) — 50+ percentile
      Up-to 40 Marks(4 correct question) — 65+ percentile
      Up-to 50 Marks(5 correct question) — 80+ percentile
      50+ Marks — 85+ percentile

      Verbal:
      Up-to 20 Marks(2 correct question) — 20+ percentile
      Up-to 60 Marks(6 correct question) — 60+ percentile
      Up-to 90 Marks(9 correct question) — 85+ percentile
      Up-to 100 marks — 90+ percentile
      120+ marks — 96+ percentile

      The Overall Percentile can be calculated as below:

      Quant 50 + Reasoning 85 + Verbal 95 == 90+ overall percentile
      Quant 30 + Reasoning 70 + Verbal 95 == 80+ overall percentile
      Quant 80 + Reasoning 80 + Verbal 90 == 95+ overall percentile
      Quant 60 + Reasoning 80 + Verbal 90 == 85+ overall percentile
      (P.S. The weightage of Quantitative Section is higher than that of Verbal)

      The eLitmus test is completely performance based. Companies give a call based on your performance. If you manage to perform well, definitely your chances of getting a call shall increase. R S Aggarawal books are as such very good for preparation but still Arun Sharma’s books are recommended for thorough study.

      Dear Sailaja,
      There is no particular score at which one can be sure to get calls from all companies.Companies rank their students on the basis of their preferences & job profile. So it might turn out that you are ranked at a higher position in a certain company where as your rank drops in another one inspite of same score. eg. If a company is involved in R & D it shall lay more focus to out of box thinking, algorithmic thinking, simplification, relational thinking, encapsulation and abstraction. Where as if a company is engaged in providing software services, then it lays stress on questions related to following skills – methodical approach, eye for detail, perseverance, patience etc. Apart from that some companies might have additional preference on basis of Geography and Academic credentials. Also look out for How to score 90+ Percentile in eLitmus? and Books for eLitmus preparations
