The CLAT 2015 Syllabus comprises of the following under mentioned sections:
- English Language including Comprehension
- General knowledge & Current Affairs
- Legal Aptitude

- Current Affairs
(i)English Language including Comprehension:
The section of English language has been specifically designed to test the abilities of the candidates appearing for the Common Law admission Test. The section does comprise of English comprehension passages as well as grammar.
The comprehension section will consist of a passage in the English language; this passage will have a central theme or morale, together along with questions which are asked. The candidate will be required to answer the questions with respect to the passage given above.
The Grammar section will comprise of the sentence construction, incorrect sentences (will have to be rectified by the candidate); fill in the blanks; sentence completion etc.
(ii)General Knowledge and Current Affairs:
This section of the paper will completely comprise of the all the questions which will be asked from the topics of General knowledge and current events. The primary purpose of this section is to test the ability of the students with respect to their knowledge and understanding of Current Events.
Topics which will be included in this section will be Economic, Current Events; Sports; Technology; Persons & Places; Books & Authors etc.
All candidates will have to specifically concentrate more on the current events and specific happenings for at least the past 2 years.
The Mathematics section will include chapters namely: Arithmetic (numbers theory); number systems; surds & indices; Square roots; fractions & decimals; HCF & LCM; Simplification & approximations; Ration & Proportion; Average Logarithms; Commerical Mathematics (Interest, Percentages; Profit & loss; Partnership; discounts; Mensuration; Area & Volumes
Reasoning Tests: Direction and Distance Tests; Analogy Test; Classification (Odd Man out) Test; Coding Decoding Test; Number Test; Series Test; Relationship Test; Alphabet Test; Ranking Test; Time Sequence Test
Logic Test: Statements Assumptions; Statements Arguments; Statements Conclusions; Statement Actions
The Legal Aptitude section shall comprise of the topics and the questions which will be asked from the chapters and question of law. This section of the paper has been specifically crafted to check the candidate’s aptitude and skill from the legal perspective.
