CISF Sample Papers


Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) came into subsistence in year 1969 with a reserved commencement, having three battalions, to provide incorporated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) which, in those years, occupied the commanding heights of the economy. CISF examination is carried out by UPSC for various posts.

CISF Paper Pattern

CISF examination paper has two papers. Here are the two papers with the respective subjects:

  • Paper I: This paper comprises of General ability, Intelligence and Professional Skill and is divided into two parts. This paper has objective type multiple choices questions (MCQs) and carries 300 marks.
  • Paper II: This paper comprises of Essay, Precis Writing and Comprehension. This paper has subjective type questions and carries 100 marks.

Paper I (General ability, Intelligence and Professional Skill)

PART A: General Ability and Intelligence

  • General Mental Ability
  • General Science
  • Current Events of National and International Importance
  • General Awareness

PART B: Professional Skill

  • CISF related professional skills
  • Law
  • Computer Skills and Awareness
  • Service Rules and HR matters

Paper II (Essay, Precis Writing and Comprehension)

  • Essay Writing and Precis Writing with effective and grammatically correct language free from spelling mistakes.
  • Comprehension passage and replying the questions with short answers
